描述
谜妆，正如其名，将事物化上一或多层如谜的妆造。其似乎只是令事物被简陋而粗暴地遮掩，常出现在年纪久远的相片、录像带中，抑或令一名流浪者在其他流浪者的视界中被遮蔽身体一部分；尽管有些难以察觉，——如手表等附属品——但谜妆确确实实存在于后室中，并且可能正于你身边悄然蔓延。以目前而言，谜妆并不会对流浪者造成实质性的伤害。

谜妆在流浪者长时间对某物的淡落中出现，主要呈现形式为黑条与马赛克，然后是物理性的扣痕。最先被遮蔽的一般是画面中流浪者的双眼，次之为脸部，再次为躯体，最后是受影响的物件在其他流浪者中的记忆。这些遮蔽是同步的，即：过去所有画面中的流浪者都将在同一时间遭到同一形式的谜妆遮蔽。
当流浪者于画面中消失时，现实中流浪者同样会在其他人的视界中消失，但仍可通过电子设备传递信息，但存在感会大大减弱——其余人会下意识地忽略这些“已然消失”之人发出的消息，即便在后端控制台中也无法查询到用户的行为。这一事件会永久性地影响流浪者所有的网络账号，令其始终保持在“电子幽灵”般的状态，此后账号使用者的更换无法将账号恢复正常。
有些情况下，流浪者会以黑块或模糊的马赛克等外貌出现在他人的视界中，怪异而不协调；但通常只有与他人保持一段较近的距离时该流浪者才会被发觉。
有消息称，谜妆的作用者将以微不可查的速度淡出其他流浪者的记忆，从部分到整体、自肉身到灵魂。流浪者们给这个过程命了一个相当贴切的名字——遗失。遗憾的是，各组织对谜妆的研究始终止步不前，这归吝于其极不利于深入了解的特殊性质中：若长时间将注意力集中至谜妆上1，则会致使谜妆作用于流浪者之上，且进程显著加快。
被谜妆影响者在画面中会受到严重的扭曲，如葬礼中的微笑脸庞等。在看到这些相片时，尽管严重异常，流浪者的内心亦是毫无波澜且感到乏味的，并试图寻找合适的理由离开相片周围。遗忘后其内心亦然如此，仅有少数对记忆中缺失的人物感到好奇，但更加深入的回忆却变得模糊不清，或流浪者完全无法知悉这些人的消失。
后室协调时9/8更新：最新报告发现，谜妆疑似能够遮蔽一切位于平面之上的物质。E.P.B.六角阁基地中的一页空置数月的实验理论遭到谜妆影响而损坏，其电子备份亦受损坏，造成极大损失。
行为准则
很遗憾，我们并未发现规避谜妆的有效方式。如果不幸被谜妆缠身，请尽量让别人记住你，——给他们留下难以磨灭的印象——这能推迟你被遗忘的时间。
有传言称，切入一张受谜妆影响的相片会进入破碎之地，但未被证实，我们亦不建议流浪者尝试这种行为。
